Artists performing at the Olympic Games closing ceremony will be given the option to mime during their performances, it has been reported today.
The huge closing event, which will mark the end of the 2012 Games, is set to feature performances from The Who, Take That, Jessie J, George Michael and many more.
Olympic chiefs have reportedly reached out to the acts performing and offered them the opportunity to pre-record their vocal parts to avoid any potential disasters on the night. It is estimated that 650 million people will tune in to the ceremony when it takes place in August.
Speaking to The Sun, an insider said: "Games chiefs don't want to leave anything to chance."
"They've given all acts at the Closing Ceremony the option of miming to their songs. They want the tunes pre-recorded before the event so there's no problems with the sound."
It is was revealed last week that Liam Gallagher will perform the Oasis classic 'Wonderwall' at the ceremony whilst The Spice Girls are also expected to make an appearance.
