Bruce Springsteen mocked the Hyde Park shut down at Hard Rock Calling last weekend at his Dublin show on Tuesday this week, with an array of stage jokes about the enforced power cut.
The rock icon held up a sign which read 'Only the Boss says when to pull the plug' as well as wheeling a large 'on/off' sign onto the stage before performing 'Dancing In The Dark'. He also flipped a switch on stage generator while performing 'Twist And Shout' (the song which was cut off at Hyde Park) and said to the audience "Before we were so rudely interrupted..."
Springsteen was duetting with Paul McCartney at his Hard Rock Calling performance when officials cut the sound on the show, adhering to the strict Hyde Park curfew. Roxy Music star Bryan Ferry later called for 'embarassing' Hyde Park performances to be cancelled.
