The Maccabees recently revealed an unexpected overnight stay at Munich airport, speaking of a 'nightmare' stranding at the German airport.

German Air Traffic Control suffered a system failure which meant that more than 100 flights had to be cancelled, and the Maccabees found themselves stranded at the airport overnight.

When speaking to Xfm backstage at T in the Park, guitarist Felix White said: “They had little campbeds and stuff. It was quite a scrap - you had to beat off 6-year-old children to get your bed ready.

“It was a bit of a nightmare to be honest with you but it was an experience.”

The band made it to T in the Park, but suffered further problems when they arrived as their equipment was still at the airport.

White added: “All the drums aren't here and the pedals - we've borrowed various pedals from people.”

Last month the Maccabees played their largest ever London show, check out what we thought of it.
