Johnny Marr will perform with Brian Ferry as part of the Roxy Music frontman's solo headline slot at Guilfest this weekend, it has been confirmed today.
Taking to the stage on Sunday 15th July, Marr will provide backing during the set comprising of Ferry’s solo and Roxy Music catalogue.
The musical duo have been friends for 25 years having first met in 1987 when Marr played on Ferry’s Bete Noir album. The pair have spent time in the studio again this year as they work on Ferry’s new album.
Speaking about Johnny Marr and Guilfest, Ferry said: ‘Johnny has previously performed with us on TV and at some smaller events but I am thrilled that he will be playing a full show with us for the very first time at GuilFest’.
Johnny Marr most recently jumped onstage in Manchester with The Cribs, the band he recorded one album with between 2008-2010.
