A family friend of Usher is being questioned after the weekend jet-ski tragedy which has left the 'Climax' singer's brain dead.

Alcohol is not thought to have played a part in the accident, which took place on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, Georgia. 11-year-old Kyle Glover was hit by the jet-ski as he rode an inner tube on the lake. A mechanical fault is also expected to be ruled out.

Sgt. Mike Bellamy of Georgia Department of Natural Resources spoke of the incident, saying: "Basically, a pontoon was pulling two juveniles on an inner tube, and the watercraft ran over the top of them."

Glover is the son of Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster. The singer chartered a flight to Atlanta upon hearing the news to join Foster by Glover's bedside.

The girl with Glover suffered minor injuries, including a broken arm and head wound.
