Adele's hugely succesful album '21' has been revealed as the biggest selling album of 2012 so far.

Despite selling millions of copies of the album upon its release last year, '21' has continued to sell strongly throughout the first six months of this year - shifting a massive 596,000 copies since January.

The top 20 albums, compiled using Official Charts Company sales data, includes a number of 2011 albums which have maintained success including releases by Bruno Mars, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran and Olly Murs.

New albums are well represented in the list though, with Emeli Sande's debut 'Our Version Of Events' selling 532,000 to take the Scottish singer to number two in the chart. Similarly, Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die' has sold nearly half a million copies.
