Cheryl Cole was left shaken after a private jet she was flying on was caught up in a lightning storm in Germany, revealing her horror at having her album promo halted by an untimely death.

The incident happened this week with Cheryl in Europe to promote her new album 'A Million Lights'. The jet she had chartered to travel between promo duties was unable to take off from the airport due to adverse weather conditions.

Speaking to The Sun, Cheryl said: "We were stuck in the plane and just sitting on the runway and a bright massive flash of light hit outside the aircraft. I said to my friend, 'That's lightning' - then it just didn’t stop.

Adding: "I was so scared that I thought, 'This is it. I've got an album to promote and I've got so much yet to 'do!'"

Earlier this week it was revealed that Cheryl's manager Will.i.am wants her to duet with Britney Spears.
