Whitney Houston's final musical recording, a collaboration with Jordin Sparks from the film ‘Sparkle’, has been revealed today.
The official music video for 'Celebrate' shows Sparks and her fellow co-stars enjoying a night in - cut with Houston's scenes from the movie.
Speaking about the video, Sparks told BET: ‘We planned on it being Whitney and me, but she’s not here, so we wanted to make it a tribute to her’. The 22 year old added that they had to record parts separately due to Houston’s schedule, "It got so crazy" and describing the experience as ‘amazing, you could just hear the smile in Whitney’s voice when she was singing it.’
Whitney Houston plays a single mother of an aspiring vocal trio in Sparkle. In the music video, Sparks wears a Houston t-shirt in memory of the former artist.
‘Sparkle’ will be out on August 17th and will be Houston’s fifth movie role with her credits also including ‘The Bodyguard’ and ‘Waiting to Exhale’. Whitney Houston died on February 11th this year.
