Jarvis Cocker has admitted that he doesn’t know if Pulp will ever record new material.
The frontman spoke to NME about Pulp’s future plans, and definitely ruled out the possibility of the band breaking up again after their 2010 reunion, but was less sure if they could make a new album.
When he was asked about the prospect of new material, he said: “I don't know about that. I mean, I've enjoyed doing these shows because the idea was, could we manage to do it again, to make it feel like it was worth doing and to make it sound right? And I think we managed to do that.”
The Pulp singer went on to say: “I suppose once you've done that, the next thing is; would you make some new music? I've enjoyed the fact that we haven't been doing any new stuff, because I feel that's kept it quite simple. It's hard one. We haven't been in the studio or anything. I don't know what will happen in the future.”
Cocker has previously claimed that he 'always' has ideas for new songs, constantly keeping a notepad for ideas and scraps of musical inspiration.
