Carrie Underwood has dismissed comparisons to Taylor Swift, saying she is entirely different to her fellow US star.
Carrie, 29 who won US talent show American Idol in 2005 has been trying to make country music more accessible to a bigger audience telling BANG Showbiz ‘'I feel like we're definitely completely different artists; that is something that's so cool about country music because everyone has their own thing.’
The Oklahoma singer rejects their music comparisons stating that their approach to music is very different. "Our songs are definitely different. She sings a little bit lighter sometimes and it's just a difference in our brand of country."
Carrie also spoke of her hopes to expand the world of country music. "For me it's more exciting than anything if somebody likes me and start listening to country music over other all those other artists. People want so much 'real country music', but for me it's cool that we can bring more people into country music by being different."
Carrie is headlining her first ever show in England, playing to a sold-out Royal Albert Hall in London tonight (21.06.12).
