Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has broken a US chart record with sales of his debut album.
His debut album ‘+’ entered the US Billboard chart at number five, which according to his label is the highest debut for a British male on the US charts.
Asylum Records tweeted: “Huge Congrats to our amazing @edsheeran who's entered the US Album Chart at No.5. We're told this is the highest ever debut for a UK male!!!”
‘+’ also reached number one on the US iTunes chart last week.
Ed was added to the line-up for London’s iTunes festival yesterday, due to headline the venue on September 5.
