Blur have hinted that they could be set to release a new song in early July, posting cryptic messages online.
'The Puritan', a song Damon Albarn recently played live, is the most likely track to be released and is included in an image posted via the band's official Twitter page earlier this morning (June 19).
A neon sign shows the phrase "The flash of a blade is one less getting paid" in the image, accompanied by the hashtag #ThePuritan.
Blur accompanied the Tweet with a reference to the date and time 7.15pm / 2nd July.
Earlier this year, Albarn appeared to suggest that the Blur's Hyde Park show this summer would be the band's last - but later retracted the statement and said: "I love being in that band. When I’m in the middle of it I forget about all the pretentious angst I have about it and have a brilliant time."
