Guilfest set the world record for the biggest ever ‘air guitar ensemble’ on Sunday (July 17).
More than 4,000 people took part in the spectacle, playing air guitar to Guns N Roses’ ‘Sweet Child Of Mine’ a few minutes before rock dinosaurs Status Quo took to the stage.
Organisers of the festival held in Guildford, Surrey are still waiting for official confirmation of the record from the Guinness Book of Records.
Festival organiser Tony Scott, said: "We are thrilled to have broken the world record. This has always been a special festival which keeps getting better and obviously this year we have struck a new chord."
Acts that played at Guilfest over the weekend included Paul Weller, Echo and the Bunnymen, Alabama 3 and Daniel Bedingfield.
