Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash is set to be honoured on America's most famous pavement when he receives a star on Hollywood's Walk Of Fame next month.
The guitarist, who performed at last weekend's Download Festival, beats Axl Rose to the honour. The band frontman is yet to be honoured on the Walk Of Fame, and after his reaction to the GNR induction to America's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he might have to wait a little longer still.
"We are proud to place his name among the stars on our fabled Hollywood Walk of Fame," says the producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, Ana Martinez, who also hailed Slash as "one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time".
Slash spoke of his 'disillusionment' with former bandmate Axl Rose after he snubbed Guns N' Roses Hall Of Fame induction and claimed to be 'closing the book' on his time with the band.
