GuilFestSurrey’s GuilFest is experiencing gorgeous weather for it’s 14th year and festival -goers are desperately trying to get their hands on an air-guitar for the evening's world record attempt at the largest ever air guitar ensemble.

The festival, billed by organisers as a ‘mini Glastonbury’ due to its family atmosphere, has already played host to acts as varied as the Pogues, Paul Weller, Echo and the Bunnymen, the Stands, the Others, the Subways and the Black Velvets, this weekend. This year has also seen the addition of 'Nintendo Park' – a new area packed with games, giant inflatables and all the latest games consoles.

Tonight’s headliners are the mighty Quo, the considerably less mighty Daniel Bedingfield and Marillion. The world record attempt will kick off at 7:45 and will be lead by former air guitar champions, Farmer John and Triple Slash. Any participants who are not already proficient in the art will be taken to one side and given intensive coaching on an air guitar by a professional.
The chosen anthem for the endeavour is, of course, Guns n Roses’ ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ and with an expected 17, 500 people to take part, the event will smash Finland's existing record of 3,500 participants.

    Get rocking...
