The long awaited Alan Partridge movie has been confirmed for a 2013 release date by writer Armando Iannucci.
A big-screen adventure for the Norwich based TV host has been rumoured for years but, when quizzed on the progress of the film by Empire, Iannucci confirmed that they plan to shoot the film later this year for release next year.
"It’s just about all come together now, so that’ll be shot later in the year," Iannucci said, adding: "At the moment it’s 'The Alan Partridge Movie' but that’s just a working title. [The script] is written [but] we’re always rewriting, rewriting and rewriting."
Iannucci said that he will act as executive producer on the film with Declan Lowney set to direct. Iannucci is currently in the US working on his new HBO TV series Veep, which stars Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
