As we're counting down till the weekend, diehard Apple fans have been waiting all week (quite literally in some cases) to get their hands on the latest iPad which went on sale this morning – the queues are nearly as long as they were yesterday for the free Starbucks morning. Madness!
The updated tablet was unveiled at an event in San Francisco last month and Apple have also announced numerous other improved assets in their latest device.
The iPad 3 includes a 5-megapixel camera and will run on the new 4G network (where the service is available). The new device is 9.4mm deep, whereas its predecessor was 8mm. The iPad 3 is estimated to have a battery life of 10-hours, which is shortened to nine when using 4G.
The WiFi enabled iPad will be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. US prices have been announced, with the tablet costing $629, $729 and $829 stateside.
Ali Tarighi from west London, has been queuing outside the flagship store on Regent Street for the past week
'I wanted to be one of the first to get my hands on it really,' he told The Metro
'It can be hard at times, especially at nights. It gets really cold but it's going to feel great when I hold the iPad up in triumph.'
