Shooting for Sin City 2 should begin this summer, according to director Robert Rodriguez.
The first 2005 adaptation of Frank Miller's comic book was highly received but the sequel has been postponed a number of times.
The director has now told Hollywood Reporter that he is aiming to start production right after he finishes Machete 2.
Last year Rodriquez hinted that co-director Frank Miller has also had a crack at the screenplay, saying: "Like before we had three different stories that we were trying to meld together and [Monahan] took a pass at it for a couple of weeks, and now Frank is doing his pass... We're pretty close. We might have it soon."
