Michael Bay has confirmed that he will direct Transformers 4.
Bay, who has been involved in all three films, told fans over his blog that he would return as director and that the new movie would be "a whole new reimagining of Transformers."
This comes despite the director saying that he planned to make Tansformers: Dark of the Moon his final film for the franchise.
He is currently working on Pain and Gain, a long-standing passion project, and it is thought that Paramount will make him direct another Transformers tale if he ever wants it to see the light of day.
He wrote: "Steven Spielberg and I are working on a whole new reimagining of Transformers, the fourth installment. We have been working on the idea for a few months. I'm excited about where it's headed."
Not much is known about a prospective Transformers 4, apart from the fact that Shia LeBeouf won't be returning, but the source said that it could mine further mythology,
