The Artist was the big winner at the BAFTA Film Awards last night (February 12), collecting a total of seven awards.
The criticaly acclaimed silent film picked up the award for Best Film, Best Director for Michel Hazanavicius, Best Actor for its star Jean Dujardin, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score and the awards for Best Costume Design and Cinematography.
Other winners on the night included The Iron Lady, with Meryl Streep winning the award for Best Actress and the film itself awarded Best Hair and Make Up.
Christopher Plummer took home Best Supporting Actor award for his role in Beginners, while Octavia Spencer won Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Help.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which had been nominated for a total of 11 awards, only ended winning two awards winning for Best Adapted Screenplay and Outstanding British Film.
The ceremony took place at London's Royal Opera House.
