Adele has revealed that it "felt like something popped" inside her throat prior to her career saving throat surgery.
The singer underwent throat surgery in America last November after numerous problems with her voice which forced her to cancel all remaining live dates of 2011.
Adele will make her live comeback at this weekend's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles (February 12).
In an interview with US television show 60 Minutes she said she knew instantly that she had developed problems with her voice:
''It felt like someone put a curtain over my throat. It felt like something popped in my throat.''
"I had an application on my phone that you type the words into it and then it speaks it. But the great thing is I love to swear.
Most of [the apps] you can't swear on, but I found this one app where you can swear, so I'm still really getting my point across."
As previously reported on Gigwise, Adele revealed that she has no plans to release another album in the next two or three years.
The London singer said she hasn’t started work on her third album and plans to ‘set up home’ for a few years first.
