Shaun Ryder has denied recent reports that The Happy Mondays will support The Stone Roses at their homecoming reunion shows this summer.
The Happy Monday's original line-up announced last week that they have reunited for a planned UK tour later this year.
Rumours appeared online that the band would support The Stone Roses during their three day stint at Heaton Park in June.
Frontman Shaun Ryder told Evening Show host David Heane: "I'll put this straight; there's no plans, it's absolutely garbage that we are going to be playing at Heaton Park with Stone Roses, that's rubbish."
He said there were no plans beyond 10 Mondays dates which have been announced, although he said they "might" confirm some festival shows.
Adding: "There's absolutely no plans at the moment for a new album."
Meanwhile The Stone Roses - frontman Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani and drummer Reni - revealed that they have already started rehearsing for the tour, which won't get underway until the summer of 2012.
