M.I.A Splits From Fiance Benjamin Bronfman Following Super Bowl Controversy

M.I.A has split from her fiance Benjamin Bronfman, it has been confirmed.

The rapper -  real name Mathangi Arulpragasam – is said to have split from her partner of five years and the father of her two-year-old son due to distance.

M.I.A currently resides in London whilst American Benjamin Bronfman lives in New York with their son. It is reporteded that the rapper "sometimes goes six weeks without seeing" her son.

Meanwhile, MIA could set to be personally pay any fines given to NBC as a result of her giving the middle finger gesture during Super Bowl halftime show.

According to TMZ a number of sources have informed have informed them that MIA signed a contract with the National Football League in which she agreed to compensate them for any fines they may be imposed if any complaints were made.

M.I.A's incident follows controversy in 2004 when Janet Jackson accidentally bared a nipple during her halftime performance.
