Laura Marling And Gruff Rhys For BBC 6Music Birthday Concert

A one-off concert has been announced to celebrate the 10^th Birthday of BBC’s 6Music.

The shows will take place across of a week of special broadcasts which include Laura Marling, Gruff Rhys, Anna Calvo, Lianna La Havas and Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves Of Destiny in the line-up.

The front room at the Queen Elizabeth Hall will also hold live, non-ticketed events.  

Taking place within three venues at London’s Southbank Centre on Friday 16 March, Lauren Laverne will also broadcast from Maida Vale studios with special sessions from Spiritualized and Orbital.

Speaking of the shows, Laverne said "I love being part of the Radio 6 Music family and its success, its special radio. We’ll be featuring some of the station’s best music and artists during the anniversary and I’m especially looking forward to Maida Vale, where I’ll be bringing listeners some amazing live sessions".

Speaking of the success of BBC’s 6Music, Bob Shennan, controller for BBC Radio 2 and Radio 6Music, added “This has been an incredible first decade for Radio 6 Music.
