Top of the Pops is finally being moved to its new Sunday Evening slot on BBC 2.

The Beeb made the announcement late last year that the ailing show would be moved from its Friday evening slot because of falling viewing figures.

The ‘all-new’ show will kick-off on Sunday July 17 at 7pm and will be hosted by Fearne Cotton and a series of guest presenters. Other one-off presenters lined up include Phil Jupitus, Jeremy Clarkson, Mark Lamarr, The Osbournes and Reggie Yates.

Despite the show's decline in recent years and sub-standard guests they have on the show, Beeb bosses are optimistic. BBC Two controller Roly Keating told the station that it marks “an exciting new era for the show.”

He added: “Top of the Pops will be working more closely with Radio 1 continuing to add to our portfolio of great music and performance programmes - from Later with Jools Holland to Glastonbury - making it a natural member of the BBC Two music family."
