The drummer of alternative folk band Fleet Foxes has today left the band.
Joshua Tillman announced plans to leave the band on his official website, but failed to given any reason why. Posted with an image of the band playing live he simple stated “Farewell Fleet Fans and Friends. Back into the gaping maw of obscurity I go. Tokyo is my last show with the Foxes. Sorry if I was distant and obtuse if we ever met. Have fun.”
Creating solo material while also working with Fleet Foxes, the drummer released music under the name Father John Misty. Since starting his solo work in 2005 Tillman has released seven solo albums and three E.P’s.
Fleet Foxes have again this year been announced as a nominee for Best International Group at this year’s BRIT Awards.
