With their new album ‘A Flash Flood of Colour’ out this week, we spoke to Enter Shikari as they hit the road in London. Playing a small gig at The Borderline, the band spoke out about the themes behind their third offering.
Drummer Robert Rolfe showed a softer side to the hard-core post punk sound of the band, stating ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’ is about “Sustainability for our species and the world we’re living in. At the moment we are using it up at a ridiculous rate. It is more about taking a step back and working as one people as opposed to fighting against each other for small personal gains”.
The album looks set to take the number one spot in the album charts at the weekend and has been a long time coming for the band.
Speaking on the day of its release Rolfe commented “I can’t believe it. It felt like the day was never going to come. Like something that was creeping up on us and now it is finally here”.
The band also touched on other subjects including advice for new bands, how the new material differs from their old and recording in Thailand.
