No Doubt and Rise Against revealed that their Twitter accounts were hacked into by followers of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.
The hackers posted tweets from both band's accounts that backed the libertarian politician,
No Doubt's Twitter account said: Today we officially endorse Ron Paul 2012 donate to him here http://bit.ly/yDrrFI #ronpaulrevolution.
Adding: "If you actually read what Ron Paul is saying, you will discover that for the first time in your life a politician is not lying to you."
The band were quick to tell fans that it was not their own post: "Our Twitter account was hacked last night. No political endorsements at this time. Love, No Doubt."
Rise Against also posted: "We were hacked. As you would all assume, we DO NOT support Ron Paul,"
