Elton John is set to write a book about his personal experiences with AIDS.
The singer has signed an exclusive deal to write his first book, with proceeds going towards Elton John Aids Foundation, which he launched in 1992.
The book will see Elton open up about losing his close friend, Queen frontman Freddie Mercury.
In a statement, the singer said: In an This is a disease that must be cured not by a miraculous vaccine, but by changing hearts and minds, and through a collective effort to break down social barriers and to build bridges of compassion.
Why are we not doing more? This is a question I have thought deeply about, and wish to answer—and to help change—by writing this book.'
Meanwhile, Elton John has revealed that he wants Justin Timberlake to play him in his forthcoming musical biopic.
The singer started preparing for a musical biopic about his life, to be titled Rocketman.
