The Avengers is to be released in 3D, it has been announced.
Joss Whedon's Marvel ensemble piece will also be released in the standard 2D format, Walt Disney Studios has revealed.
Superheroes including Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) join forces for the first time.
Chris Evans recently told Digital Spy: "It's a lot easier now. Now that we've gotten through the first wave of Captain America, the press and that madness and now we're into The Avengers, where I get to share some of the workload, it's become a lot easier."
The Avengers is released on May 4, 2012.
