Muse have revealed that their next album will be 'radically different'.
The band, who are currently working on the follow-up to 2009's The Resistance, said to album should be released in October 2012.
In an interview with Kerrang, bassist Chris Wolstenholme said the band are planning to "move on" from the sound of their previous album.
"[The band] feel like we are drawing a line under a certain period of what we've done in our career," he told Kerrang. "It feels like it's time to move on and do something radically different."
He explained that trying out a different style of album can prove tricky, but added: "Then you could get into the studio and go back to what you're comfortable with.
"You get in the studio and there's a natural process and you have to see where a song will take you."
