Daniel Craig has urged cinema goers not to take their children to see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
The James Bond star has said the Hollywood remake stays true to author Stieg Larsson's themes of violence against women.
He told BBC Breakfast: "It is addressing a huge issue that serial killers on the whole are male and they kill women. It is an adult movie.
"This is one where you pay the babysitter - babysitters are going to make a lot of money out of this, I hope."
He added: "Don't take the kids."
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which also stars Rooney Mara, Stellan Skarsgard, Geraldine James and Steven Berkoff, is released on December 26.
