Rumours that appeared online last night (November 28) that Muse are set to split have been revealed as a hoax.
Rumours about the band calling it a day spread across the internet last night after a reported fake NME.com page was posted on Twitter.
The fake page said Muse had allegedly split following arguments within the band whilst recording their new album.
The news story was automatically dismissed by Muse's representatives.
The band whose last album 'The Resistance' came out back in September 2009 are currently recording its follow-up.
Muse have been touring extensively over the past year, playing the Reading and Leeds festivals among others, but look set to take a breather at least for the moment.
It will come at a perfect time, with singer Matt Bellamy having to juggle being a new father with the band's gruelling schedule - his wife Kate Hudson recently giving birth to their first child in July.
