Courtney Love has angered Nirvana fans she has given permission for X Factor contestant Jante Devlin to cover the band's track on the show.
The Hole singer tweeted Simon Cowell with the idea yesterday (November 24).
She posted: "@SimonCowell you want some Nirvana songs? @JanetJealousy is from same town as Kurt? I have the perfect idea for that, call me babe."
The move has stunned the shows bosses because getting permission from musicians for their songs to be covered by contestants on the show is increasingly difficult.
Courtney inherited the rights to the band's songs after Kurt Cobain killed himself in 1994 and has been famously controlling about how Nirvana songs are used.
Cobain’s ex-wife Love has been locked in a feud with Foo Fighters Dave Grohl since the release of Nirvana’s box set ‘With The Lights Out,’ amid legal conflict in 2004.
