Microsoft Deny That XBox Live Has Been Hacked

Microsoft have moved to deny that XBox Live has been the victim of a security breach.

The Sun had reported that many users had fallen to a phishing scam, which forced the software giants to issue a response.

A statement was released that read: "Xbox Live has not been hacked. Microsoft can confirm that there has been no breach to the security of our Xbox Live service."

It did however admit that a number of gamers had been victims of phishing scams, and had seen personal information stolen through deception, such as through a fake website or person.

It said that if people were affected, they should get in touch with Microsoft to help solve the problem, and that the company is doing everything in its power to warn users from unauthorised requests for personal information in the future.

The XBox 360 is to get a new dashboard on December 6.
