Dido has expressed her dismay at the bony celebs setting a poor role model for their young fans. The 33-year-old singer has spoken out, saying:
“I think some of the stars today are definitely too skinny…It is quite hard not to fall into the trap of thinking that you wish you could be skinnier because everyone else is; it creates an unreal image for most of us and that is quite scary.”
She added to the Daily Mirror: “If these celebrities want to starve themselves, then that’s their choice. But it’s not for me and it’s not a good example to set for easily influenced teenage girls"
"I am not capable of starving myself – I couldn’t do it, it’s too hard. I love food too much.”
She has also stated: “I’ve always tried to keep people focused on my music, not me.”
All very well for you Dido - with your petit size 10 body – but try telling that to poor Michelle McManus.
Dido will be playing Edinburgh's Live8 concert on july 6th.
