Live8 organisers have promised the “greatest, greatest show on earth,” for next weekend’s mammoth musical extravaganza.
The shows on July 2nd are expected to reach 5.5 billion people worldwide – 4 billion more than 1985’s Live Aid.
The multi-city concerts will be transmitted to mobiles, radio and 140 TV networks and should reach 85% of the population.
Kevin Wall, the executive producer, told The Telegraph:
“This is without a doubt the largest global live transmission in history…everyone around the world will have the opportunity to view and interact…and collectively we will come together to have our voices heard and eliminate poverty.”
Get your tea, biscuits and credit cards at the ready and prepare to be swept away.
