Adele and The xx are among the nominees for this year's Aim Independent Music Awards.
The ceremony, which recognises British indie acts, looks set to be dominated by artists signed to XL Recordings.
In addition to Adele and The xx, fellow XL acts Friendly Fires, The Horrors and Vampire Weekend are also nominated for awards.
In a category dubbed the Best Difficult Second Album, Adele's '21' will go head-to-head with Friendly Fires' 'Pala'.
Adele is also nominated for Most Play Artist award, alongside Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend and The xx.
The Aim Independent Music Awards were established to create an independent alternative to bigger music awards ceremonies like The BRITs.
This year's prizes will be handed out in London on November 10.
