Noel Gallagher has revealed that he turned down the X Factor job role as he didn't want the contestants in his house.
The singer was previously reported to have been offered the job by Simon Cowell, which later went to Take That's Gary Barlow.
In an interview with Absolute Radio, Gallagher said after a 'long drawn out saga of phone calls' he finally spoke to Cowell.
He explained how Cowell said: 'We’re rebranding the show and we need an Alpha Male.'
'He said ‘For the whole show’, and I was like ‘No, no’, and he was going ‘No, no, no, it’ll be great’, you know, and I was saying ‘You mean kids round at my house? In my kitchen, what I’ve just put in, right, on the banquette?’
Gallagher added that he could never say any of the scripted lines on TV such as 'You know I can only take three into the final, and this is the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make. I left Oasis, but that was nothing to compared to this.'
Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher has unveiled the full video for his new single 'AKA...What A Life', which features a cameo appearance from Russell Brand.
