Elbow's Guy Garvey has revealed that he is not a fan of Nirvana.
In recent interview with Q magazine the frontman was asked: 'Is there a classic act or album from that last 25 years that leaves you cold?'
Garvey replied: "Nirvana. I don't f*cking get it. Kurt Cobain was angry and frustrated. And then he died. That's terrible but i'm not sure about the music."
He added: "My problem with Nirvana is that even though he died and he wrote a lot of songs about being unhappy and frustrated it doesn't quite ring true for me. It doesn't quite validate those somgs for me. I still don't believe in them any more that I did."
Meanwhile, Elbow will play a special one-off homecoming show in Manchester next month.
The band will play Manchester Cathedral as part of a unique concert with BBC Radio 2 on October 27.
