Murder Suspect Cassidy Is Refused Bail

And is staying in a medium security prison...

US rapper Cassidy has been denied bail after turning himself in to police in connection with a murder in Pennsylvania on Friday (June 17).

Because of state law, any defendants accused of murder are not allowed out on bail.

On Saturday he was officially charged with one count of murder, two accounts of attempted murder, two accounts of aggravated assault and various weapons charges, reports mtv.

Cassidy did not give a plea, and won’t be expected to until the case goes to trial – which may take some months.

A hearing is due to take place on Wednesday when prosecutors are expected to give evidence to a judge who will decide whether or not there are enough grounds to bring the case to a trial.

Police allege that on the evening of April 15, three men, including Cassidy, opened fire on three unarmed men in a Pennsylvania suburb. 22-year-old Desmond Dawkins was shot and killed in the incident and two other men were taken in to hospital and treated for gunshot wounds.
