Echo and the Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch has invited Chris Martin to join his band on stage at Glastonbury.
Martin has admitted in the past that Coldplay owe a lot to the epic sound of The Bunnymen and are massive fans of the band.
At T in the Park in 2003, McCulloch joined Coldplay on stage to perform ‘Lips Like Sugar’ from the Bunnymen’s eponymous album from 1987.
Now it seems Ian McCulloch is keen to return the favour, inviting Martin to sing with the band at Glasto on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday evening. Coldplay headline the stage later on.
Speaking to 6 music, McCulloch said: "You never know, Chris might say: 'Macca will you play ‘Lips Like Sugar with us?' Or he might say: 'Macca can I sing Nothing Lasts Forever?' Whatever, he's more than welcome, and I'll make myself more than welcome if I'm invited to sing ‘Lips Like Sugar’ with Coldplay."
