The iPhone 5 will definitely not be shown to the world at the upcoming Let's Talk iPhone Event, according to reports.
Taking place in Cuppertino, California, the event, open to members of the media, is scheduled to commence at 10.00 am BST.
Rather than the much-anticipated new iPhone, Apple's new CEO Tim Cook will instead reveal the iPhone 4S, an update of the current iPhone 4, TNW says.
Whilst not an insignificent piece of news, it will come as a massive disappointment to those who had hoped to see Apple show off their next generation touchphone.
Whilst boasting the same dimensions as the current iPhone, the innards of the iPhone 4S are significently enhanced.
The 5MP camera is being replaced by an 8MP version, with Apple's new Qualcomm chipset, as well as 1GB of RAM and an A5 processor, means the phone will be much faster than its predecessor.
So whilst the news may be a massive blow to those fans hoping to be amongst the first to own the iPhone 5, it is almost certain that they will be falling over themselves to grab a piece of the 4S.
