Suede frontman Brett Anderson has revealed that the band's style came from buying clothes in charity shops.
In an exclusive interview with Gigwise at this year's Oxjam festival, Anderson said the group couldn't afford anything more expensive.
“Suede, in the early days, that's where we got our look from,” he said.
“We basically couldn't afford proper clothes, so we used to buy second hand suits, and then when we got successful everyone thought it was a stylist that had dressed us, and it was just because we didn't have any money.”
He jokingly added: “We were styled by Oxfam. You didn't know they did that as a service, did you?”
Anderson released his olo album 'Black Rainbows' this week.
