A Beach Boys landmark in their hometown has been targeted by vandals after being erected for just one month.
The monument and plaque in which was built near the Wilson family home in Hawthorne, California was daubed with paint.
Construction engineer Harry Jarnagan said: “I’m disappointed but not surprised. We knew (vandalism) would be an issue. I’m surprised it’s gone this long without being tagged.”
As yahoo reports, mayor Larry Guidi is planning on meeting up with officials from a company supplying internet-based surveillance cameras to help protect the property.
The Beach Boys landmark features a stone sculpture of the 1963 ‘Surfer Girl’ album cover with six gold records laid around a bronze plaque.
