The BRIT School, which has helped the careers of Adele and Jessie, could be set for a second home in the North West.
The famous performing London arts school whose former students include Adele, Leona Lewis, Jessie J, The Kooks, Kate Nash, The Feeling, Katie Melua and Amy Winehouse, is in talks to have a second school based in the MediaCity area of Salford, reports BBC News.
Education secretary Lord Baker said: ''I'm very hopeful that, under this new type of college, we're going to establish a new Brits School very similar to yours," he told students at the current school's 20th anniversary. "I hope we might have that going within two years."
The BRIT School is celebrating its 20th anniversary this week, with a host of big names paying tribute the school.
X Factor winner Leona Lewis said: ''My time there was invaluable. Being in a creative environment all day fuelled my passion to have a creative career."
