Arcade Fire have won this year's Polaris Prize, which is Canada's equivalent of the Mercury Prize, for their recent album 'The Suburbs'.
The band's third album was selected by a panel of 11 music industry figures in Toronto.
Frontman Win Butler said the Montreal-based group were “honoured” to win, adding: “"There's an absurd amount of incredible Canadian music and we feel lucky to have been able to have seen bands like Godspeed You Black Emperor and The Unicorns.”
Other acts nominated included Braids, Austra and The Weeknd.
As well as walking home with the Polaris Prize trophy, Arcade Fire also win $30,000.
