Pete Doherty is campaigning for the government to bring in new tough environmental laws.
In a recent interview the singer said he is urging the government to enforce tougher punishments to help protect the planet.
''We need people to make some radical, almost fascist decisions: no more petrol, no more paper that isn't recycled, laws saying we're not allowed to build any more cars, or we can only have electrical cars,'' Doherty told The Daily Telegraph.
Doherty appeared at the eco-friendly music festival We Love Green in Paris, France last weekend (September 15) to support a number of green causes.
As previously reported on Gigwise, the Babyshambles and former Libertines frontman spoke about the recent riots in London, describing them as a “dark, destructive force”.
“The whole system is just completely corrupt. The youngsters right the way through to the people who are supposed to be our leaders,” he said.
