Bjork has delayed the release of her new album 'Biophilia' in order to re-record songs on the album.
The LP had been due to arrive on September 28, but will now be released on October 10 in the UK and the following day (11) in the US.
In a message on her website, the Icelandic singer explained that the release date had been pushed back because she had decided to change elements of the album following her recent gigs in Manchester.
She said “some of the songs grew while playing them live and I decided to add some of this into the album”
Bjork continued: “I ended up even using a live recording of one of the songs on the album. Take my hunch the whole distance but in order to do that I had to put the album back a bit.”
She added: “I am really happy i did this , seems like biophilia the album has a body.”
'Biophilia' is part of a multi-media project, which also comprises of a special iPad app.
