The Beach Boys “lost” album 'Smile' is set to be released – 44 years after it was due to come out.
The album was recorded during studio sessions in 1966 and 1967, but left unfinished after frontman Brian Wilson had an emotional breakdown.
'The Smile Sessions' will be released on October 31.
Singer Mike Love said: "Cousin Brian was at his creative peak during those sessions. I'm unaware of anything that comes close in pop music."
Some of the recording sessions for 'Smile' took palce at the same time as the band were recording its predecessor, 'Pet Sounds', which was critically acclaimed and still regarded as one of the best studio album ever.
